First time posting because I am currently in India travelling around on my own and planning to go to the test in Nagpur. I was hoping to find out where the England fans were planning on sitting and if what people's plan were etc. I have booked my travel and hotel, arriving the day before the test starts (12th December) and leaving the day after it finishes (18th December).
I have e mailed the VCA about ticket information and they replied with the following:
Dear sir,
Please find below stand-wise ticket rates. The same can be procured from Bank of Maharashtra, VCA Branch, Civil Lines, Nagpur - 440001 one week prior to the date of the Test Match.
Tickets Rates:
East Wing - Rs. 200 (season) / Rs. 50 (day) West Wing - Rs. 300 (season) North Wing - Rs. 750 (season) South Wing Ground - Rs. 1,000 (season) South Wing Top - Rs. 750 (season).
Based on this information and being approximately six weeks before the test, does anyone who is planning on being in Nagour have any idea of what they are doing?

Andy, I've also sent off an email, but @ this juncture am awaiting a reply. I'ts good to know that tickets can be purchased in the town, instead of having to go the 16km to the ground. Just checked on Google Maps and the bank (if I've got the right one) is only 2km from my hotel. Best bet may be to just purchase the first day's ticket for the east stand (should have the sunshine all day there) and then have a "look see".
I'm also about to start travelling around India and was planning on catching the last 3 days of the Nagpur test. I've never been abroad to a test before so was wondering if these things usually sell out in advance or will I be ok to buy tickets the day before?
thanks
Neil
As long as the place selling the tickets is actually open, you should have no problem. Since international matches were moved to the new out-of-town stadium, Tests in Nagpur have been extremely poorly attended.
