Good evening everyone,
Helpful post thanks,
Any news on wether m15 will be the correct section to be buying Boxing Day test tickets in yet for the mcg.

Hi Rosey.

M15 is the section where the Barmy Army will be, but unfortunately you won't be able to buy tickets in there through the ACF pre sale or General Release. The only way into that bay is through an official tour group. Best you can hope for is to try and get tickets close by.

Hi, question for dave,
Where do I find mcg seating map for Boxing Day?

www.e-brochures.com.au/cricketaustralia ... re-you-go/

Open the brochure then click on the Melbourne tab on the left hand side. In the middle there is an "International seating plan" section with 3 icons next to it, click on the one that says Commonwealth Bank Ashes.

Hi all

I'm new to the board and have just booked up for the Perth, Melbourne and Sydney tests with a few mates.

One question I have after reading through the booklet just released is whether Ticketmaster and Ticketek will be offering the choice to take e-tickets rather than the official printed versions? I couldn't find anything on either website and nothing jumped out at me in the booklet.

I'm going to e-mail them but wondered whether this option was available on the previous tour?

Cheers

I have booked other tickets (rugby, footy etc.) through ticketek in Melbourne on numerous occasions and always had e-ticket option so I would assume this will be the case for the Ashes too. Not promising anything as I don't know for certain but always had that option through them for other events. They still charge an admin fee of $5+ for it though, the same fee as posted tickets and tickets collected from the venue.

There has never been an e-ticket option for Ashes games in the past to my knowledge, but that's not to say there won't be this time. Even if there isn't, the postal service between Australia and England is surprisingly quick in my experience.

Just a follow up on this. The ACF website FAQ section says if you choose to receive e-tickets then you should receive them immediately. Tickets that are mailed may take several weeks.

I somehow have a Gold priority access account and subsequently I've been able to book tickets tonight.

Website was very easy to use with no delays.

Opted for Adelaide tickets to be delivered as a .PDF file by email.

I've managed to get tickets for Boxing Day and Adelaide using a friends ACF Gold Membership. It's pretty annoying that you cannot select your seats, I had to go through the system a few times before getting offered some in Bay 15 (next to the BA in 16).

Had no luck in getting near the BA bays for the other days of Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney so have left it for now.

I managed to get bay 15 for the first 3 days in Melbourne, but had to settle for bay 22 for day 4.
I also managed to get all 4 days at the WACA in block 12, next to the BA in 13.

It was much easier to do by phone as you could pretty much pick from what they had available.

The phone numbers are: 132 849 - ticketek (Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney)

136 100 - ticketmaster (Brisbane, Perth)

Obviously these are the Australian numbers so not too sure how 13 numbers work with international dialling codes.

Hope this helps,

Blimey, am I right in thinking (from reading that post) that you couldn't get the bays next to the official Barmy Army (which incidentally will be a number of first time tourists and the 'top table' as we call them ;) ) so you've not bothered getting anything!!! I hope this tactic doesn't come back to bite you!!!
I just went bang bang bang, get what I can, log off, with a maxed out card ;)

Edit: I've just read your other post, so kind of understand now!!!

Alright lads,

So every BA ticket is pretty much sold out? I can't get GA for adelaide, can't get good tickets for Melbourne and Sydney. I remember back in 09 when I bought tickets for adelaide and melbourne I had left it a good 6 weeks and managed to get GA in adelaide and right next to the BA in melbourne. Will more tickets be released on the 17th or whatever? I had the best time in 2009/2010 but there is no way in hell I'm sitting with the "Aussie Army" or sitting up in the stands when the BA are doing there thing.

:(

I imagine Adelaide will be a problem as 1/3rd of the ground is under constuction, another 1/3rd is for SA Cricket Members, leaving very little on sale.

I very nearly bought tickets in Bay 13 at MCG before I realised it was Bay 13. It doesn't make much sense to have the Barmy Army just two blocks away.
