 I'm not sure I can add much to the earlier tributes, suffice to say that the man did a huge amount for me on tour like hundreds of people, and that I am distraught at the news.

My favourite Podge story off the top of my head would be Day 1 in Dhaka - while taking a cycle rickshaw back to the Grand Prince from the Sher-e-Bangla I was feeling quiet pleased with myself... only for an air-conditioned minibus to coast past me with a familiar voice saying "and that's why you're not top of the league!"

 Met him for first time in Brisbane 2006. Always managed to get his flag on tv. RIP.

 Ditto all your lovely tributes. Crouchy I was in the air conditioned mini bus. You missed out the bit where he called the policeman over to stop the traffic as he was worried about not being in the ground in time for Jerusalem! RIP mate.

 George helped us out at the Barbados test 2009, will remember him in the 'beach area' chilling on the little fishing boat by the pool. Top bloke, very sad news.

 Well I must say I'm absolutely devastated.

every time I've needed help he's helped.Helped me out no end before and during the Ashes tour 2005/6.
He's met me on days out in S'land watching my team West Brom and we've had good sessions. Was with him in September,and he was as usual larger than life.

Top man will be sadly missed. Best wishes to his family at this tragic time.

 Still completely shocked at this news, a fella who certainly lived his life to the absolute full - A measure of the man is that myself, Kev, Darlo Phil & Clare were discussing 'George Tour Stories' over a quick pint before the start of play at Trent Bridge last year - We were still laughing and still in the pub nearly two hours later.

He did so much for so many of us who regularly tour. However on a personal note, the cake and tribute from the band that him and Yvonne organised for Clare's birthday which coincided with the New Years Eve bash at Cape Town was so thoughtful and typical of them both.

True story but I was going through my mobile phone contacts last week between meetings and saw George's name . I was going to drop him a text and ask his plans for UAE/Sri Lanka but was distracted. Never have the chance now .

 Just wanted to add my memory of George.

At Quay4 on NYE in Cape Town, the organiser of an alternative BA party, the night was a blast with George central to all that was going on.

 RIP George, only ever met him at home Tests, he sorted me out (as everybody else says at face value) tickets for 2005 Ashes at Old Trafford and a ODI v Sri Lanka in 2006.

Thoroughly nice gent, sorry to hear of his passing.
