Post subject: Barmy Army Meeting spots and Merchandise

 Although the barmy army do not have an allocated block of tickets for any of the T20 and one day international games we are anticipating that significant numbers of ex pats, backpackers and travelling fans will be in attendance at each match. As such we would suggest that a useful meeting place before the game will be the barmy army HQs at each venue:


12th Adelaide The Cathedral close to the ground and PJ O Briens, East Terrace
14th Melbourne The Turf Bar, Queen Street
(There is a slight change to the selling arrangements in Melbourne for the T20 and ODI because the Turf Bar is closed on Saturday and Sunday this weekend.

The 'shop' will be open as follows:

Friday 14 Jan - The Turf Bar (1pm-6:30pm) - T20 starts at 7:05pm.
Saturday 15 Jan - PJ O'Briens, Southbank (3pm-9pm)
Sunday 16 January - PJ O'Briens, Southbank (11am-2:00pm) - ODI starts at 14:20pm


21st Jan Hobart No base planned as yet
23rd Jan Sydney The Paragon Hotel, Circular Quay
26th Jan Adelaide The Cathedral Hotel close to the ground and PJOBriens, East Terrace
30th Jan Brisbane the Pig n Whistle Eagle Street
2nd Feb Sydney The Paragon Hotel, Circular quay
6th Feb Perth The Lucky Shag, Barrack St Jetty

Barmy Army merchandise including the Cook Conquers Australia Victory shirts and Convict Colony Tour shirts will be available through the official Cricket Australia merchandising outlets at every game.

Carl, one of the original members from 94/5 will also be selling from a number of the HQs including Adelaide on the 12th, Melbourne on the 14th and 16th and Sydney on the 23rd and 2nd Feb. Due to popular demand he will also be selling a number of the McGrath Foundation pink shirts from the Paragon for the Sydney games.

 I saw the already over priced, Ashes winning 'Cook' shirts on sale at the MCG this evening for an extortionate $60!!!!!

I saw them as well........f#$%k that.

Any ideas how long before they are on sale here (don't appear to be as yet)???

Edit:

Never mind, just read in another thread, 3-4 weeks. Can wait that long before I fork out $60!!!

 Hi,

What time are people meeting at The Paragon Hotel for the 6th ODI in Sydney (match starts 2.20pm) and will there be any English flags on sale?

Also, I have tickets in the following area:
Section: SBAY13
Row: J
Seats: 7-6
Price Category: Bronze

Will I be sat with the rest of the Barmy Army?

This is my first cricket match in Auz - I managed to persuade my girlfriend to alter our plans so we could make this (currently backpacking) and really want to enjoy it with the Barmy Army, although I do understand lots of people went home after the test series finished.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
