Hello. Could anyone already booked up please recommend any reasonably located mid-price hotels in these two cities please. Thankyou in advance. |

For Adelaide, I use Glenelg Letting Agency every time without fail. They have three sets of apartments, two of which are decently priced. Unless you want hostels, I'm of the mindset you won't get better value accommodations than these, particularly in Glenelg. http://www.baybeachfront.com.au I'm booked in the Bayswaterfront Apartments for 4th to 11th December which worked out at £27 each per night based on three sharing (2 adults, 1 teen (even though he's 20)). The third adults attracts a $10-15 supplement. Super views over the Marina. Last year I stayed at the Bayview Apartments, as did GTP and others. Bit dated, as are most non chain/pre millenium accommodations in Adelaide, but spacious and served its purpose for the four of us. Prices as at last month were: BAYSWATERFRONT APARTMENTS Adelphi Terrace Glenelg 2 Bedroom (front apartment-Marina view) 4 star rated (bedding: kingwidth bed in the main bedroom: twin beds in the second bedroom) $847.00 for the 7 night stay. BAYVIEW APARTMENTS Anzac Highway Glenelg 2 Bedroom "Park View" 3.5 star rated Front suite (bedding: kingsize bed in the main bedroom; three single beds in the second bedroom) $791.00 for the 7 night stay 2 Bedroom "Elysian" luxury park view suite - ground floor only available - newly released (bedding: kingsize bed in the main bedroom; twin beds in the second bedroom) $1393.00 for the 7 night stay. For a quote, email info@baybeachfront.com.au A $200 deposit is required with the balance due 30 days before arrival. |

Last time around I stayed with Hereford Rich, Union Dave and Swainie in a gaff called Beatty Lodge, just outside Perth. www.beattylodge.com.au It's a budget hotel come backpackers place with all the basic needs you want when touring, there are rooms from dorms to doubles to private single rooms, depending on your budget, and it's also got a small pool which is a bonus. It's in a district called Leederville which is a short walk away from the hotel and which has a few nice boozers and one in particular that was opposite the Irish bar we drank in, that was rammed full of totty on a Friday/Saturday night, but this was pretty expensive, hence the watching brief !!!! Only downside is that it is a bus ride to the bus station and then a second bus ride to the WACA. If I was going this time around I would certainly stay here again. Enjoy. |

Hi I have a house in adelaide which sleeps up to 8 people . Only 5 minutes 4 km from adelaide oval . Buses stop within 200m restaurants hotels close by. house is spacious , modern and swiming pool I will be in UK for all of december so looking to rent out for this period . |

Can someone who has stayed down in Glenelg tell me what the tram service into Adelaide is like? Do they run frequently and late into the night.....cheap/expensive?? My Dad is coming over from England for this, he's nearly 80 and can't walk too far without struggling. Are the tram stops close to these apartments and does it drop you off reasonably close to the Oval?? Any advice on this most welcome. Cheers. |

Stayed at Glenelg on the last tour. The trams ran very frequently and ran into the wee hours of the morning. The nearest stop to the Oval was about a ten minute walk up and down a slight hill. From memory they were pretty cheap (I was on a six month trip away and was saving the pennies where possible, can't remember being the cost being an issue!) Glenelg is a lovely spot that reminded me of a posh Saundersfoot! |

Accom in CBD or West Perth suits, there is a free bus service (Red Cat or Yellow Cat) that runs every 15min and will take you directly to the grounds. Avoid peak times as they are jammed packed.
