Harvey, I've had one of these contact me as well asking £450 for a day 3 Lord's tickets, promtly told him to jog on.

Send me an email at ssbusinessgroup@bigpond.com and I'll forward the emails onto you.

Cheers.

No names required Sam but was that from a regular forum poster too?? Very disappointing if so.

Not too sure if it was regular, but they said they saw my post on here and asked if I was still after tickets, when I said I was they sent me a link to a craigs list ad.

OK, thanks to the efforts of Stoney and Samgoudogs, the investigation is now complete, and the identity of the offending party is known.

The Barmy Army has a zero tolerance approach to the offering of tickets through this forum except for exchanges or transactions at or below face value. These transactions are made between genuine fans seeking to help each other out, not rip each other off. The normal course of action when we receive a report of touting taking place is to ban the offender and send their details to the ECB (or whichever board issued the tickets). The ECB will normally cancel any tickets issued to the person concerned, and blacklist them, making it difficult for them to buy tickets in the future.

In this instance I have a personal message for the scalper being discussed in this thread:

Jamie, if I receive any more complaints about you offering tickets for sale above face value, I will have no choice but to write to your headmaster. I'm sure Mr. D***** would take a very dim view of your activities, especially making use of the school network to breach the ECB's conditions of sale.

The honourable way to dispose of a ticket for a day you can't go is to either sell it on at face value to a genuine fan, or exchange it for a ticket for a day when you can go. Many of us over the years have benefited from this system of mutual aid, and it's how we get so many England fans into sold out grounds in Australia, despite the best efforts of Cricket Australia to stop us. Helping each other is what the Barmy Army (and this forum) is all about, and it's why we take an extremely dim view of those seeking to take advantage of their fellow fans for personal gain.

I know you are a cricket fan yourself, otherwise I'm sure you wouldn't have had your picture taken with Michael Holding, so consider other fans. The more people who seek to profit from the scarcity of tickets, the more expensive it gets for everyone, including yourself.

Think on, young man!

This Jamie Salt idiot is still at it, contacting me a couple times over the past week trying to offload his ticket at a ridiculous price.

His justification is humorous at best

"I've got 1 tickets for Day 3 of the Ashes 2nd Test at Lords on the 20th of July that I'm selling at what seems to be much cheaper thanmthe market rate according to all the reselling sites like GetMeIn, Stubhub & Viagogo which have sold multiple tickets ."

"Price is £325 for the single which is very cheap, though I will consider offers close to that ball park number. And just to be clear, I'm not a tout, just a guy who can't make it to the match this year due to family commitments."

When I told him I hope he gets stuck with the ticket and loses all his money, his response was,

"I will sell it easily anyway, but I just wanted to offer it to a member of barmy army. Try not to publicise this Ad on the barmy army forums plases,
Thanks."

Bollocks, you saw the Barmy Army as a potential avenue to turn a quick profit, nothing more nothing less.
Utter scum.

Well I guess some pricks just don't learn. Big H went to great lengths to try and educate this young muppet, seems it all fell on deaf ears.

Hopefully now he'll get shopped and learn his lesson the hard way.
