I'm a touring virgin and am fancying a trip to the west Indies but not sure how the ticketing bit works ....
Didn't know if I should boo a package (But t that costs a far bit !!) I see a few people have just booked flights and hotels , but how do get the tickets ? Should I just book the holiday side and 'hope' I can get tickets at the ground ?
Thanks for any help / advice

The Caribbean isn't normally the most difficult place to get tickets for.

If you're looking at Antigua they will probably be giving the tickets away by the bucketful on the gate. Bardados is a big ground so even though demand will be higher there should still be plenty to go around. Some people buy the tickets on line and collect at the ground, I prefer to pay a bit extra and get them sent to my uk address in advance.

If you're a complete novice you can pay over the odds and book a package, but booking the flights and hotel yourself should be a straightforward process.

From what I have seen I'm guessing most stay round St Lawerence Gap?

Anywhere on the south coast between Oistins and Bridgetown is fine (never a problem getting a ZR into town).

If you are out on the lash every night the gap is probably best, if you want somewhere quieter Rockley beack is very nice.

I was in Antigua in 2009 and saw the 10 balls at the match in question. Can't see a lot of locals going, Can't see too many England fans going either.

Sh*t location, Sh*t pitch.

Yeah, me too. Only way of getting there is hiring a car, or pay a silly amount for a Taxi. The Viv Richards stadium is not just in the middle of nowhere, it's soulless as well!

The World Cup 2007 had cheap shuttle buses from St Johns, about 50p from memory.

I've just booked a week in Barbados to see the 3 x 20/20 games, I guess there are a few reasons :

a) Having done all 5 tests in the convict colony last time around, I really was convinced that watching England away couldn't get any better than that. Having dipped my toe in the water in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, I was right and have been missing in action ever since.

b) Tim Clark the SA golfer won the Players Championship a few years ago and I was lucky enough to back him to win a good few quid which I blasted away going over to Barbados with the wife for the 20/20 World Cup final against the convicts, and we all know what that was like ? I was also lucky enough to meet up with George the Podge and Crazy Mark on that week, and I have happy but blurred memories of that great week.

c) The West Indies 2009 tour was my first timer tour and although it was not great cricket it got me hooked watching England play abroad.

Anyway, the card has been whacked and I'm going to the Gap for a weeks sun in March.

Come on England !!!!

Booked holiday to Antigua for 2 weeks to watch all three ODI's. Went to Barbados in 2009 and loved it so hoping for the same again.

I'll be visiting Barbados in March to watch the 20twenty games. Does anyone know how to get tickets for the party stand/when they go on sale/prices etc?

Looking to do this for 10 nights and catch the ODI's in Antigua only. Never been to this part of the world before. Is the ground close and easily accessible from anywhere on the island? Been to India before to watch England. What's the usual comparisons of price? Beer, tickets etc.? As per another post I've read, definitely no budget hotels that I can find. Thanks.

If you look back about 5 posts in this thread you will get the gist of what most people think of the location,
