Not if you're British of course, and 'ONLY' for the 1st test at Galle.

Sri Lanka Cricket has decided that the cricket loving public be allowed to watch the forthcoming 1st Test Match to be played in Galle from the 16th July 2014 onwards FREE OF CHARGE in the public viewing area.

Remenber this when/if they announce the next series in SL.

I don't see a problem.
Sri Lankans who earn fuck-all get to see their heroes play and well-off ( comparatively ) tourists are expected to pay for a ticket about as much as they might spend on a few hours on the piss.
It's still a fraction of what England fans would happily pay to watch a Test game here.

Problem is the obvious one I have highlighted. We, the followers of England are forced to pay 10x the normal rate, whilst SA supporters pay nothing for one game then the same as Australians for the rest, ie one tenth of what we paid.
I can see some logic, albeit tainted by racism in my opinion, for all the richer nations to be charged more but its not, its just us plainly because we travel in such large numbers. Supply and demand is not a factor, there are large enough grounds, they just chose to play in smaller grounds to suit their ends.
There were thousands of 'poor' Sri Lankans in the grounds. How/why ? Because they were let in for nothing.
Try telling Asteve its not racism when they let his daughter in for nothing and refused him permission.

We all know SL cricket is skint, if they had asked for us to pay a levy at a fair proportion to the ticket price I'm sure most of us would have been ok about it. Particularly if the players had actually gotten a share of it for once instead of having to wait months for pay.
For me and many I spoke to it left a bitter taste and i vowed to go back, but only to watch someone else, it would appear that option is even more attractive as its free.
