I boasted to Eggmanfoo while waiting to board our onward flight from Tripoli to Gatwick that my guts had behaved themselves perfectly all trip on a diet that contained not so much as a morsel of Western food. Literally 5 minutes later I had to make a rushed toilet visit. Thankfully we were at the gate and not in the transit lounge, which has the worst toilets I've ever seen at an airport. I then spent the flight yo-yoing from seat to bog, and nearly had an accident on my way to passport control. I spent a significant amount of the train journey home on the loo feeling like death warmed up, and was expelling so much fluid I thought I was going to shrivel up like a prune. It was all over within a few hours thankfully, as it usually is with that sort of thing if you simply keep hydrated and let your system flush it out. I put it down to me committing the schoolboy error of ordering beef curry for my last meal before departure, a dish which wasn't on the list of recommendations given to me by the waiter. |

Er.... will have to let you know on this one. Have just removed a couple of ticks from the back of my leg. Apparently many of the diseases which you can pick up from a tick don't show symptoms for a few weeks. I must have picked them up whilst in the forest at Srimongol or swimming in the river there a couple of days ago. Bilharzia is also an option for me due to the swim, again I won't know for 4 to 6 weeks. The old tummy is OK though. |

Would have thought a visit to the GP was a wise precaution John, especially to be made aware of warning signs. I personally picked up two STD's, and that was just from the Grand Prince pool !!! |
