I have to say that I'd quite like to know why the thread got blocked. Please Mr Moderator, tell us why. I'm not too sure that I like censorship, especially not the unnessessary type. This seems a wee bit over the top to me. Surely we don't live in a BarmyArmy dictatorship? Or do we? We really should know. |

So whats the point in us having moderators then if we are going to complain when they moderate????? I'm certainly not answering for whoever took that action, but from where I was sitting that thread was going nowhere and and the insults being thrown around were getting rather personal...........perfectly legit reason for locking the discussion in my opinion. Perhaps some of those participants need to discuss the topic in a more mature manner, then there wouldn't be the need for such "censorship" |

During the younger years of my life when being brainwashed to believe the teachings of the Carpenter from Nazareth anybody commenting on the wrong doings of others was scolded with a quote from the book of fairytales... ""he who is without sin cast the first stone"" a reference the inhumane stoning to death of a poor sinner who escaped the infinite mercey promised by the subject of the book. Repeating a loss of self control for whatever reason regaular, of course is a different matter. But forgive a poor sinner for one mistake please. The Reverend Harry has Spoken 666 |

The thread had degenerated into personal slanging matches and general nastiness. At least a couple of people commented that it had run its course, and I agreed with them. To remind people of the rules: "Please respect one another's opinions, remain on topic wherever possible, refrain from using swear words and treat it [i.e. the forum] with the respect that it deserves." It was not possible to keep the aforementioned thread strictly within those rules without deleting pretty much all of it, so the best decision was therefore to close it. It can still be read, so locking it does not constitute censorship. Regbarmy, if you've got something to say, then nobody is going to stop you from saying it, as long as you abide by the rules. |
