'This lad' has built a highly successful ODI career based upon his ability to play both the reverse and conventional sweep. It's a shot he nails 9/10 and should be encouraged to play it where possible because it's his shot and the effect it has at maneuvering the field to open up other gaps.

The main ingredient of England's recent success with their ODI batting line up is to play without fear. Believe it or not you have to play shots to score runs ;)

But when you are consistently getting out to the same shot isn't it time to review your options? I don't think his recent efforts with this type of shot is anywhere near 9/10. From memory, 3 times in the ODI's against Australia before he went home injured and again here in his 2nd dig.

Oh well, let's hope that he doesn't get out cheaply in the QF Rich! ;)
