I am sure others noticed that on viewing the crowd at the final in Mumbai, there were very few if any non wealthy indian fans in the ground. I understand that the tickets were priced around 14000 rupes. The situation that is left is that genuine indian fans, who should have been given the chance to witness such a great event, were left in a position where they would never afford such a ticket. The result then is that every member of the crowd was there because they could afford to witness history, or were enjoying the corprorate band wagon. Another ICC/BCCI shambles, preventing genuine working class fans from being at the final. |

Whilst it appeared that most people were well dressed, I'm not sure that you can categorically state that they were all affluent. Some tickets were considerably cheaper, Wickets got one at 5000R, and Mumbai is notably the 'richest' city in India. TBH it would have been the same here, I dread to think what we would charge for a WCF ! Your guess ? |

but the funiest thing all weekend was watching the open jaws when tendulkar got out, not getting his 100th ton - written in the stars..... |
