I was going to make the journey down to taunton today, but gave up any hope last night when Hamps lost three late wickets. Such a nail biting finish. I've slipped a tenner on a Warwks win at the Rose Bowl at 28/1 to ease any pain Woah, Lanky Lanky.... Goo on! |

Well done to all at Old Trafford. Didn't think Warwickshire would let it slip down at Hampshire going into the last day. |

Didn't even know until my northern colleague came bouncing down the office (not easy for a skinny git) with the manic smile saying "guess what, go on, guess. You know you won't". Then I knew. Up to then, all I knew was that the mighty Glozzer had once again managed to throw away promotion by imploding at Northants. The only way we will make Div 1 is if sky create a Cricket Premier League and they rename Div 2 as Div 1 in the same way the football was renamed. At least Scummerset didn't win the league. And by the way ....... Well done Lancs |

Just finished a 17 year old bottle of Champagne, which I have retained for a 'worthy cause'. Did'nt have it after our FA Cup win earlier this year as I was already 'oiled' but never ever anticipated this today. fantastic days cricket which got to me early afternoon as we struggled to take the last two. Had to go out and get away from the radio, the tension was just too much. Thankfully on my return we had got them otherwise I do'nt think I could have coped. The run chase was pure enjoyment - Vic Marks apart. Never thought that Warwicks would fail in their impressive march onward, they just seemed like the irresistable force, not to be denied. Mike Carberry continues his incredible comeback - another contender maybe, and the rest as they say is history. As I alluded earlier today, I hope that people are'nt losing interest. If nothing else this years tournament proves that County cricket is alive, well and very entertaining. Final word, the afore mentioned Marks, not only did he continually disparage Lancs today, he disgraced himself completely for trying to vindicate the slow over rates which would be bowled and therefor prevent Lancs winning purely by lack of opportunity - before a 2nd inns bowl had been bowled. After thankfully only minor examples of this behaviour was actually seen, he moved on to agonising about anything and everything he could, all dedicated to ways to which Somerset could prevent Lancs winning, never once Somerset winning. Obviously Mr Marks and Lancs have histoty, added to the fact it was his former club, maybe next time the Beeb can provide someone with impartial insight, not this bigotted a..hole. |

I was under the impression that on the final day of a CC match, the minimum number of overs had to be bowled regardless of how slow the over-rate. Slow over rates can also land you with point deductions. |

After a nerve-shredding couple of weeks, Middlesex finally and deservedly clinched the Division 2 title. Leicestershire certainly made us sweat though! If they'd played like that all season, no way would they have finished bottom. |
