When u arr @ cmb immigration, u will prob be asked how long u r stayin. If u say longer than 1 mth there is a chance u will b given a visa stamp 4 ur intended stay, up 2 3mths. Dont believe this is correct. The immigation officer gives u a stamp 4 wotever, BUT, the immigation computer will only giv u 30 days. This cud cause u BIG probs when leavin SL or tryin 2 xtend ur visa. If u r stayin more than 30 days, regardless of wot ur visa stamp sez, go 2 the passport office in Punchi Borella, Col 10, & u can get it sortd in about an hr. If u hav bought a 3mth visa frm the SL HC in london, prior 2 travel, no probs. Steve. |

Moral of the story ... for those just going for the two tests ... just fill in the standard form given to you on the plane and get a 30 day visa? |

Thought I'd better make this thread sticky. We don't want people getting caught out. The proposed system sounds a bit like the Australian one, so in theory it should be straightforward enough to get it done on line. I haven't seen any mention of how much (if anything) one of these electronic visas will cost, so watch this space! |

Had a letter from tour operator (Virgin Holidays) today advising this, and advising the ETA Visa is US$50 per person. |
