There is a section on the form entitled Travel information which asks the questions below:

Quote:
Travel Information

Intended Arrival Date

Purpose of Visit*

Port of Departure

Airline/Vessel

Flight/Vessel Number

Concerning the questions I have highlighted in red, do they want the inbound flight details or those that you're departing on? If they want your flight details coming into the country, technically, Port of Origin would have been a better choice of words.

I'm going to assume it wants to know where Im coming from which would be Malé. Or do I put Colombo as my departure point? Confused!

They already know where you are arriving at ... there's only one commercial airport in SL !

You should put:

25th March 2012
Tourism
Heathrow
Sri Lankan Airlines
UL502

or similar

I've just arrived in SL for a short visit and I'm in Galle at the moment. I obtained my online visa yesterday with no problems. On arrival today at Colombo they just scanned my passport at the immigration desk and didn't ask for any evidence of a visa, It's obviously all in the system just like the Australian ETA's.

Another handy bit of info is that it's very easy and quick to change money at Colombo airport after you exit the luggage reclaim hall. There are about 6 money changing desks that all offer the same rates which are clearly displayed.

The length of time from the airport to the Colombo end of the new Southern Expressway was 1hr 20 mins, and then a further 1 hr 10mins on the Expressway to Galle. (2hrs 30min total)

They don't. Don't bother with them. Just take your quaint English sterling pounds and change them at one of the airport desks (see above).

Well the current market rate is 1 GBP = 190 LKR so it will be interesting to hear what rates are being offered at the airport as well as local vendors in the Galle area.

The airport desks are the major SL banks, so you get the same bank rates as you will in any SL bank, whether in Colombo, Hikkaduwa, Galle, etc.
