I may be wrong here so feel free to correct me.... The www.eta.gov.sl visa service is free up until 1 January 2012 and ETAs are valid for up to 3 months and entitle the holder to remain in SL for 30 days from date of arrival. Therefore, could you not put in an application in the final week of December, pay nothing and it would still be valid in time for the Galle test? |

Not sure that it would cover the Colombo test though. There is of course only one way to find out. Good luck. |

That's the thing, the ETA is valid for 3 months and you get 30 days in SL from date of arrival. |

This lloks like a good idea..worse case scenario is that it wouldn't work...?? I guess it depends when people are leaving the country...?? Good thinking though!! |

And any ideas when you'd have to apply by to meet the Dec 31st deadline (a tough one for people to know I realise!)? |

I'm arriving SL 24th March so will apply around 22nd December and hope for the best. If it doesn't work out, will just have to cough up in the new year. |

So reading postings here...if we apply this year in late December....we then can enter SL for 1 month, but within 3 months from the visa being issued...correct??? Don't think there's such a thing as instant in SL embassy And that's my understanding on the visa rules.... |

Can I just confirm that it's £20 we're talking about here not £200, just incase I've missed something? |
