i thought i'd come here to try to get some expert advice, but please bear with me as I'm new to the BA forum.

when I go to the ticket website, all that are showing are the lowest priced tickets.

is that all that there will be or are they likely to release more as the tournament gets closer. I heard the sri lankan organiser of the T20 on TMS talking about different types of tickets, but I can't see them on the ticket website.

any help appreciated. we are travelling independently so are having to get the tickets ourselves.

Annhig, tickets were on pre-sale to Sri Lankan citizens only for a week before going on global sale 10 days ago. I was logged on the moment they went on global sale to snap up tickets to all of (hopefully) England's games plus semis and final. At that point all price ranges were on sale so I guess the allocations have sold out and just the cheapest tickets are left. Bearing in mind all countries have been able to buy for past 10 days -in addition to a week of Sri Lankans pre-sale - I'm not surprised availability is low.

There will be another batch of tickets released later in the year (August I believe) but for what it's worth, my advice would be to get yourself some tickets now to avoid disappointment.

The semis and final will sell out for certain. So for the sake of the cheapest tickets costing just GBP£1.50 then I would strongly recommend buying those tickets ASAP before they sell out so that you at least have tickets. If you are subsequently able to get better tickets nearer the time then you won't have lost much.

Some of the games are very popular and have very few tickets available (I.e. Sri Lanka matches, England matches, semis and final). Whereas, for example, the matches on 28 Sept have all price ranges left still for sale (New Zealand v S Africa & Australia v India).

Up to you but i didnt get tickets for the last T20 final in Bridgetown and regretted it!! In hindsight and had tickets been less than two quid I would definitely have bought them. The longer you leave it the fewer tickets will be left.

Good luck and enjoy - whatever you decide

Hi guys :)

Going to be going out to Colombo for the England group matches and one or two other matches.

Any idea what area (sections) of the ground the Barmy Army will be sat on the whole? Dont want to book my tickets right up the other end of the ground.

Any help would be appreciated.

I bought the expensive ones ($7 ha ha ) and i think there the grandstand but thats mainly because we will have our daughter with us,not sure if the BA have a specific section but tickets are as low as $0.25,i think i read somewhere that more tickets will be released in August? not sure if there more or less expensive but on the face of it $7 seems to be the most expensive which is a snip compared to the test day prices the sri lankans chanrged the other week.Maybe its because we are buying the tickets direct of the ICC instead of the sri lankan cricket board.

The Barmy Army in its official form are more Test match supporting then the 20 over format so I would be very surprised if there's any sort of 'official BA area'. There will however be plenty of England supporters over there for the tournament.

I wouldn't hold off getting tickets personally. I'd snap up what you can at whatever's available bearing in mind the low prices.

You may be lucky and get better tickets at the later ticket release in August but personally I want the security of having guaranteed tickets. And for under 2 quid you can get that guarantee now. No matter where you sit there will be plenty of fellow England fans nearby

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I will just book some mid range tickets for both our group games and probably (Aus v Ire and Ind v Afg).

EDIT: Done just that. Ordered tickets to the double header (Aus v Ire and Ind v Afg), both England’s group games and the double header in the super 8 in Colombo which I believe is all favourites win as expected should be Aus v India and Pak v S.Africa all for $26 delivered! Barely get a pint for that at Lords! Either way Sri Lanka is a beautiful place and I am sure it’ll be a good laugh for the world cup.

There are no tickets on sale for all the ladies T20 matches in Galle. I assume you buy on the day, or maybe entrance is free. I can't see there being huge demand, so would expect prices to reflect this.
