I am able to book the Holiday Inn Deira - Downtown Dubai for £32 a night through until January 31st if anyone is interested. This rate is per room, not per person. So £16 each were two to share a room. Ideal for those in Dubai for the first test. Average nightly rate during the test match dates is £125.00. Those who were able to take advantage of the InterContinental Sandton Towers (Johannesburg) offer in January 2010 will be able to vouch for the authenticity of this 'deal'. Room types available: 1 KING BED (NON SMOKING) 1 KING BED (SMOKING) 2 SINGLE BEDS (NON SMOKING) If you already have a flexible/refundable reservation at another property, the Holiday Inn Deira could provide a collective base for those going to the Dubai test and ultimately afford greater savings by way of taxi sharing to/from the ground. |

Okay, I've made a few reservations and availability is tight on the days prior to the test match. There is nothing left for 14th and 15th January as I type, though that could change. At present, rooms are available from 16th to 30th January. I may be able to assist anyone who requires one night only reservations during the one dayers etc. in both Dubia and Abu Dhabi. Enquire within, as they say. |

Unfortunately, availability is now nil from 14th through until 22nd January. Surprisingly (to me at least), rooms have been booked at this property pretty sharpish and the inventory around the test match dates was drained despite the offer only being published this afternoon. This rate is available to anyone, you see - or anyone in the know - and subsequently there isn't just me fighting for the rooms at that low rate. For those who I was lucky enough to get a room confirmed for, I shall forward confirmations and payment instructions shortly. I will keep an eye out for any more rooms being released and will report back as and when. |
