The name Pearl & Caviar puts me off straight away. http://www.shangri-la.com/en/property/a ... sandcaviar Sounds pricey and looks a bit snooty. Assuming the above is a restaurant, is this the bar area?: http://www.shangri-la.com/en/property/a ... /pearlsbar How much is a pint? Or is it all bottled? And whats with the wristband bit....drink for what? Seem to have missed something out there. "We are also able to provide a wristband that allows you to drink for until 10pm!" Drink for free? |

The advanced room reservation rate for a night I picked at random in Feb comes up at £250 a night. The drinks, I suggest, will be priced accordingly. Unless, of course, the hotel are wise enough to do what the Premier Inn in Dubai did this week - after some excellent negotiations by Kev - and agree on a cut price rate for pints for the duration. And a dress code of no beach wear rather rules out the mixed sartorial efforts of many BA supporters. Full marks for flying a kite though. |

Seeing as the cricket is free to get in, will there even be tickets? If no, then you can't get a free drink. If yes, then keep going in and out of the ground all day accumulating tickets for free drinks. To be honest, most people would have stopped reading at the sight of the words "dress code" I would imagine. |

I live in Abu Dhabi and Pearls is a great bar. The restaurant is on the ground floor and the bar on the roof which is open air with views over the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. They sell draught and bottles which are around 30 AED which is pretty standard pricing. There are a load of bars and restaurants next door in the Souk as well so there are other options. It is about a 10 mins (10 AED) taxi ride from the stadium so is really close. Really looking forward to watching England in what is now my home town. Sky Blue Sam |

You will only be able to buy a drink in the ground if you are in the hospitality areas and you will need a ticket for that area. |
