Lunch: England will be satisfied with their morning. They did very well to take only 16 balls to finish off the Pakistan innings for the addition for just one run. And they've made a solid start with the bat, no real dramas, much more careful playing of the spin trio - much better from Cook certainly. But Pakistan will be pleased to have picked up Andrew Strauss and will know with memories from Dubai they can quickly get among a nervy England line-up. I'll be back shortly... from cricinfo. Well I was only listening on the radio, but I found the hafeez/ajmal show absolutely nerve wracking this morning. Hope I'm wrong but I don't have too much confidence in our batting against them two. |

The pakistanis really fkin up their reviews is a bonus. Must be a chance the ump gives one or two not outs from here that the paks may've reviewed and got turned over but they're not gonna have the chance now. 206/4 with 2 overs to go. Vital that we last these 12 balls with a 50 deficit to make up tomorrow. 50-100 lead is crucial, more would be superb. |

Well those last half a dozen overs or so changed things ... any sort of a 1st innings lead, as we're batting last, will be vital . Proves though that test match cricket is the only cricket |

Still England's day imo, 50 short with 5 wkts left, I'd've settled for that. Just. You'd've thought the worst that could happen is that we're level pegging and a hundred lead or more is not out of the question What a shame about the end though. kind of match where a few hearty blows from Broad and Swann tomorrow to increase our lead could be a game changer. I feel confident we can bowl them out for 250 or less again in the second innings - we dropped 4 catches uncharacteristically yesterday. |
