two consecutive 4s by Broad off new ball taken ... into the lead, 4 wickets left.

Amazing stat from Benedict earlier ... in 2011 ECB last five wickets have averaged 50, EACH pair, best of all sides (compared to worst Pakistan 18, and the best of the rest is 25). ECB bottom five ... miles ahead!

Bell out, all reviews exhausted, 11 ahead, three wickets left, ball new ... it's early to get up, but this is great test cricket to watch

Broad scoring at a run a ball (now in mid 30s) and Swann hitting the ball cleanly (three middled 4s so far) ... great stuff

end of day, Pakistan effectively, as they say, 55-4, another 20 overs before the next new ball session, which the game seems to hinge on.
