Iam travelling out for the ODI;s, what i need to know is this. How did people get to and from the ground in Abu Dhabi? My original plan was to get a taxi with a mate to and from the ground from Dubai, but my friend as pulled out cause of personal problems. Now i know there;s a bus service between the two cities, but does the bus stop anywhere near the ground? I beleive that the ground is near to the airport, is there a bus that goes to Abu Dhabi airport from Dubai. Also were there taxi;s available after the days play? |

You can get a bus that goes to the Abu Dhabi bus station up in town, near a shopping center called Al Wahada. You can very easily get a taxi from there to the ground for about 40 Dirhams which is less than 8 quid. The taxi will take 20 to 25 minutes to go from the bus station to the ground. There are buses going from Ibn Battuta mall, and the airport. The cost of them is between 50 and 80 Dirhams, and would take about an hour and 20 minutes max. If you really need better details I can get you them, I'm resident (literally 10 minutes walk from the cricket ground), feel free to ask. However, public transport is pretty good here, and taxis are cheap and plentiful in Abu Dhabi. Do you know which part of the ground you guys will be watching from? Les |

Some people I spoke with at the test match said it took them almost two and a half hours from Jebel Ali on the bus/taxi combo. Thats a lot of time and effort. A taxi may cost you around £40 each way from Dubai. |

We went to Abu Dhabi the day before the test as was still in Dubai, was told the bus would be aboiut 2 hrs, way too much time and effort that, taxi may cost you a bit on your own. Hired a car for the day, was just over an hr or so |

You could stay in the Raddison on Yas island for about £50 a night , makes sense if you are forking out £40 each way in taxi's , its about £5 each way in a cab from Yas to the cricket , there is about 4 or 5 bars in the Yaz Plaza area in the hotels . Abu Dhabi is much nicer than Dubai |

If you get the bus from Dubai, the bus driver does drop people off on request at stops on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, so you can get off there. The best thing to do would be to mention to the driver when you get on that you want the nearest stop to the cricket ground. That should save you twenty minutes of travel time and a few quid off your taxi fare. |
