When you re-enter India, even if you have a double entry visa, endorsed with where you are coming from......

.......it doesn't give you absolute right of entry as we found out when returning from Bangkok for the WC final.

One and a half hours sat in an immigration office having to deal with jumped up officious pricks was not my idea of "Welcome to India".

Just a thought.

Aah but we know you sweet talked your way in again, you smooth silver tongued basket.

at least in an immigration office no-one will give you wrong directions, or tell porkies about the name of the village you are in

So I took on the visa application form last night and just wondering what other people put for the following questions.

1)
Visable identintification marks, I read somewhere on the net that someone put none and got the visa refused???

also

2)
Passport issue location. I believe older passports say ukpa however mine says nothing, other than the issuing authority is IPS.

What is everyones experience time is a bit tight now so really don't want my visa delayed/refused.

Thanks in advance

Re. visual identification marks, if you have a mole, birthmark or tattoo, mention anything like that. I haven't personally heard of anyone being refused for putting "none," but it's best to put something. I can't remember whether eye colour is mentioned on the form, if not you could put that down if there's nothing else you can think of.

Thanks for everyones help I took your advice and filled out the form I hit one of many stumbling blocks at the payment section but thats now sorted.

I'll be be glad when I finally touch down with a kingfisher or other local brew in hand after all the effort to get there.

Big thanks to all, I've been lurking for a bit on the forum and its proved very useful in planning my adventure

Im going to be like a dog waiting at the door every morning for the postie to arrive until my passport comes back hopefully with the stamp inside.

I am trying to sort out a last min trip to the kolkata test with the last thing to arrange being my visa. I have completed the application and printed it off. Hopefully it is all in order.

Should i have paid on line before printing off the application? i cant seem to go back in and retreive the information and i cant track the application.

Do i need to complete the application again?

any help would be appreciated as i know time is pushing on and i want to get it in the post on monday.

Mine has only just gone in and I'm sure yours will be fine too. If you've completed the application then you should have a Web File Number, GBRLnnnnnnnn on the vertical left-hand side of your printout. If you haven't competed the application properly or if you are in doubt then do another one. You can go back in and pay for your application, again like I have done, afterwards via the Quicklinks menu on the right-hand side of the main menu http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/ Appointment and Online Payment and then the third option, Appointment/Make a Payment https://www.visaservices.co.in/IHC-UK/( ... 45zpqg203f))/Index.aspx and enter your GBRL.

Send it special delivery tomorrow and chill out.

Cheers vb

I managed to find my application via the GBRL no. I have someone going to check it over first thing, get the photos done and send it in the post with the signed checklist etc.

Would it speed things up if I paid on line or will a postal order sent with the ap be just as quick?

I still have 3 weeks and reading on here they have been turning them round relatively quickly. I may follow it up with a phone call later in the week!!!
