Any advice? Anywhere with the sun all day is preferable.

This is the official line from Gujarat Cricket Association.

2nd November, 2012.

Dear sir,
Received your e-mail for your requirement of the Ticket for India Vs England First Test Match to be played at Ahmedabad from 15th to 19th November, 2012.
The Test Match Daily ticket for Adani Lower Pavilion Gate No. 2 (England side) is priced @ Rs. 300/- per day x 5 days = Rs. 1,500/- for five days will be available for you.
Please let us know when you are coming to Ahmedabad and in which Hotel you have booked your Accommodation to enable us most probably to deliver the required ticket at your Hotel itself.
In this connection, you are requested to please contact to Shri. Dhiraj Jogani, Hon. Treasurer of Gujarat Cricket Association on his Mobile No. 09824008998 on or after 5th November, 2012 or e-mail ID:
ddj311@yahoo.com
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
(RAJESH PATEL)
Hon. Secretary.
Gujarat Cricket Association.

Think I'm "sticking" to my plan of the East Stand (Rs30) for the first day and sitting-in with the locals (hopefully in the SUNSHINE).

Confirmation from BA HQ:

"The England supporter's area will be the Adani Lower Pavilion (Gate No. 2). The price per day for these tickets is INR 300 which brings the price for all five days INR 1,500 - about £17!

With the stadium able to hold 50,000 people we believe you will be able to get tickets at the ground. This may require a little queuing, but if you would rather try and sort out your tickets before arrival, you can contact Shri. Dhiraj Jogani, Hon. Treasurer of Gujarat Cricket Association (e-mail ddj311@yahoo.com). We don't know for sure that he can sort tickets beforehand, but he has been given as the point of contact should you wish to do so."

There is indeed little or no chance of this one being a sell-out, but it would be very useful if someone currently in Ahmedabad for the warm-up could confirm whether tickets will be sold at the ground on the day. I know that for Tests hosted there in the past that hasn't always been the case. We don't want people heading out there (the ground is a fair way out of town) only to have to head back into the centre looking for an obscure bank to buy their ticket!

I'm arriving in Ahmedabad the day before the test and aiming to get my ticket at the ground.

Received the following from the Gujarat Cricket Association:

"The Tickets are available from 10th November, 2012 onwards at the following centres only.

1. Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad.
2. GCA Office, Nr. Sports Club of Gujarat Ltd., Navrangpura, Ahmedabad."

What's the view like down there?

I've headed up behind the bowlers arm in the upper tier at the other end- cracking view of the game and just Rs80 a day. Happy Days!

Hey, Pepper, I headed up there too. Superb view, really superb. And excellent value too. Can't imagine the "England supporter's area (sic)" has quite as good a view, but c'est la vie. :geek:

Anyway, which one are you Pepper? Are you the one that looks like a buddha?
