http://www.ecb.co.uk/news/england/engla ... 71,EN.html So Mohali will now be the 4th ODI, and Dharamshala the 5th. Both will now be day games. It seems the BCCI have just become aware of the climate in their own country! |

Crazy isn't it. Let's hope they don't suddenly decide to change one of the Test match venues... |

Oh no what a nightmare! I am getting married in Punjab in February and the game at Mohali was an integral part of the trip! As we do not fly in until the 25th, I can't make the rearranged match, but looking at the map, Dharamsala isn't too far. However whilst the travel time from Jalandhar to Dharamsala on google maps is 3hrs, does anyone know actual times as road travel can be quite difficult?! Also does anyone have details of tickets etc, and will many England fans be making the trip to this game, as it is so far North? Thanks all. |

I haven't been to Dharamshala, but I have travelled by road in that part of the world. The roads in Punjab itself are OK, but I would expect once you get into the hills that they will become slow and winding. I reckon on the steep bits you'll probably spend quite a bit of time stuck behind very slow moving trucks. Looking at the map, 3 hours does look a tad optimistic to me, but I haven't been able to find a reliable estimate. Best to check locally. I haven't seen any ticket info yet, but the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association has a website (http://www.hpcricket.org/ ). On the contacts page you'll find an enquiry form, e-mail address and phone number. Take warm clothes. Snow isn't unheard of up there at that time of year. |

Hi Dadio77, I am also doing both those ODI's in Mohali and Dharamshala. Lucky i saw the change of venue details before i booked any flights. I am flying into Chandigarh on the 22nd for the 4th ODI on the 23rd and then going to Amritsar for a couple of days. Dharamshala is about 4 hours drive from Amritsar in non peak times. Amritsar is about an hour from Jalandhar. Visibility will be poor in the mornings in January so leave more time for your journey as there is always thick fog. The roads however are very good on the journey. Regarding tickets i have emailed both the PCA and HPCA but have not received a reply from either which is not very surprising. The ticket prices are out however for the Dharamshala ODI and these can be found on the ECB website on the overseas tour section. |

Even the World Cup saw only maybe a couple of hundred England fans plus a few expats present for any one of the matches in India. Because Dharamshala is a popular tourist destination, I suspect that the numbers would have been much greater than normal but for the visa restrictions preventing people from flying home after the Tests then back out for the one dayers. As it is, there will be a handful staying on after the Tests, a handful more travelling out specially for the one dayers, and a few backpackers. Probably dozens rather than hundreds. |

Thanks for all the info - I have asked the question via friends who have relatives locally, so if I get a firm idea, I'll post it on here. The stadium and area looks fantastic and is a once in a lifetime opportunity so we are definitely going to attend, just wish we could make the Mohali game as well! |

The HPCA have updated their website and it says tickets will be available from the 15th December. It doesn't mention how you can get them though. |
