Hi, I am attending the Mumbai & Kolkata Tests. Does anyone know how can I access TMS commentary in India? Do I need to have an iPhone or will Android work? I need to make a quick decision if I need to buy a new phone in order to listen to TMS. Aggers tweeted the other day "Advice for travellers to India for tests, if you want to get local sim to listen to us, etc, MUST provide passport type photos at shop" While TMS Producer tweeted "A new way to listen to Test Match Special next week. Download the new BBC iPlayer Radio App to hear us in perfect quality on the move" So if the iPlayer is the only way to listen then would need an iPhone as the BBC website says that there are reported issues while using the player on Android phones. Does anybody know of any other way to to listen to TMS on tour? |

Thanks, Although TuneInradio allows one to listen to TMS in UK, I am not so sure if one can listen to it outside UK due to BBC's access rights restrictions. For instance, during England's UAE tour earlier this year I was trying to access TMS over a computer abroad but always got the message "this program is not available due to access rights restrictions". I wonder if TuneInRadio app would be any different given the fact that ABC's Grandstand radio commentary (AUSvsSA) is also restricted this year on TuneIn |

I'm unsure if the suggested Apps / websites work for TMS when you're outside of the UK but the added word of caution I would say is that listening to TMS commentary inside the ground on any phone/web / DAB device means that the commentary is at least 20 seconds (usually more) behind the play which gets very annoying very quickly. I've never lasted more than an over before switching it to crackly LW to get immediate coverage. But obviously that's not an option abroad. Anyway, just an extra consideration in case it's helpful |
