 All set up for Bell to come in at 350/3 and score a ton and take us to 600/8d. Then a hatful of runs v NZ before bottling it when under pressure in the Ashes.

 Cook mightn't be far off being the number 1 ranked Bat in the world after this innings, depends how many more he gets. A double ton should do it.

Jeez bishbash, that's a bit harsh mate!! I know Bell's had a crap year but I thought he'd put the "can't score runs under pressure" behind him long ago.

He's a class player and I'd back him to come good again.

And if he does score a ton here and take us to 600/8d....... I'll take that from lad thank you very much.

 A good tour of Saffers a few years back, that 150 v India last year (before we realised
how crap they were) not much of a return in 80+ tests. Nothing against the guy personally, just don't think he has remotely put to bed the theory that he doesn't score runs under pressure. I know it is almost considered sacrilegious for an England fan to say it, but it is what I think. I realise it is very hard to prove and is ultimately subjective, but out of Cook, KP, Trott and Bell there is one player that sticks out a mile in terms of ability to suck up the pressure.

 Not gonna get involved in the Bell debate, particularly as he has'nt even batted yet.
Very good day all round and hard to see how it could have been improved - realistically.
Still not really sure which part of Compo's anatomy the ball hit, but an Umpire shaking his head and taking sufficient time that, post appeal, you have virtually sprinted 22 yards and past him just might be the only gripe I can manage.
Well done fella's, keep it going.
