a few scares, but the perfect first session ... India started confidently, but heads going down as any chance of a home win being squeezed out, and a decent lead inevitable |

Terrific day in the end for us. Shame Captain Cook didn't get 200 but once again the skip has put us into a great position. Gotta pay some kudos to Matt Prior too here.......so often the unsung hero but f#$k we are so lucky to have him. Eng scored 128 in the last session and that was just what was needed, Matty just delivers every time what is required, dig in with the tail and help us get out of the shit, or come in at 420/5 and up the ante. Unless Swanny hangs around a while Prior might only make 60-70 odd which will soon be forgotten.......but it could be a crucial knock in the result of this test. |

Think there were only 28 ovs in the last session too. Would be nice to put on another quick 60-80 runs then knock one or two over before Lunch. Unlikely really to lose if you're 270 ahead with 5 and a bit sessions to go. Unless Sehwag goes aerial of course. Surprised Bell didn't fill his boots coming in at 350/3. Agreed Prior was just the ticket in the last hour or so there, and Swann. |
