Just had a little trawl through the NZ cricket website. These are the dates of the NZ v SA tests this year: 7/03/2012 - 11/03/2012BLACKCAPS vs South Africa - Test Match University Oval, Dunedin - 10.30am 15/03/2012 - 19/03/2012BLACKCAPS vs South Africa - Test Match Seddon Park, Hamilton - 10.30am 23/03/2012 - 27/03/2012BLACKCAPS vs South Africa - Test Match Hawkins Basin Reserve, Wellington - 10.30am 3 tests, back-to-back-to-back. Does anyone know if this is usual in NZ? |

You'll probably be flying in and out of Auckland regardless of whether there's a Test there, so you'll likely be wanting to spend a night or two there anyway. I can't remember the name of the place I stayed last time, but will check out whether it still exists if you're interested. It wasn't exactly the cleanest place I've ever stayed in. Walking there from the nearest stop of the airport bus involved negotiating the notoriously sleazy K Road, which when I arrived at dawn was eerily deserted aside from numerous shady figures lurking in doorways. The location of the place (in the middle of a small industrial estate) didn't tick too many boxes either! It was however INCREDIBLY cheap! |

Add me to those looking to visit NZ for the test series. Eagerly awaiting the test schedule so that I can book flights etc Would be ideal if one of the tests was in Auckland although I note that the upcoming SA test series at home for the Kiwis does not include Auckland.... A country I have always wanted to visit and to combine that with an England tour would be great Keep the NZ touring tips coming please |

Really looking forward to NZ but I am really not bothered about a test at Eden Park as it will probably be half empty the last series was excellent at all three grounds but I supect that the South Island may get a look in for one which means that if Eden is used then we will also be in Wellington again which will mean that Napier and Hamilton miss out.A pity as I really enjoyed those venues last time |

Auckland - Wellington - Dunedin would be a decent itinerary - and I have a gut feeling that's what it's going to be. This would do me ok, as I have visited Auckland and Christchurch in the past for non-cricket purposes and while that was wonderful, I fancy the idea of visiting a couple of new cities. That said, just about any combination of 3 venues in NZ would look pretty enticing. |
