According to Wikipedia the normal capacity of the University Oval in Dunedin is 3,500. This can be increased to 6,000 by the use of temporary seating.

I'd hate to travel half way around the world and end up watching the match on the telly. Is it likely to be a full house, or will the locals be luke warm to the thought of being crushed by England? Will it be another case of sitting up all night trying to book tickets on line the minute they go on sale?

I cant see it being a maasive turn out from the locals, it is a university town well know for its partying so could be a few that turn up to the game for some noise but I would assume that the majority will stay around the pubs for after cricket fun. See the Highlanders Rugby team in the super 15.
6,000 should be plenty of space. Not sure how many Eng fans will come over yet but if you try to get them on the first day of sale will be safe, first week will probably be ok too.
The Kiwis have a very laid back approach to their sport ticket. I have previously bought tickets to NZ v Aus rugby union at the ground, hardly anything sells out here.

Thanks Bikini (Kernow),

As I am a worry wart, do you know when the tickets will be on sale for this one?? I have been on ECB/NZ, ant Ticketek, but nothing as yet. I also cannot stand the thought of sitting in a pub all day watching it on the TV.

Sorry to single you out but as I know that you are in the south island I thought that you might get the heads up first.....

Looking forward to meeting up again, and will buy you a pint when I get there

As first timers any information on where and when to buy tickets for all 3 Test Matches would be appreciated. We would obviously want to be with other England supporters.

No idea on when tickets will be available but I shall start to pick the brains of my contact in NZ Cricket next week when he returns.
Living on North island, Auckland but looking forward to the beer!
I am heading down to Dunedin next month though and shall be doing a bit of a recky on the set up.
Yeah 6,500 is a fairly small ground but it is a small town so will be mostly England fans there plus a few students, the student life there is famous in NZ for great social life.

It'll be my first overseas test, though been to a few here (edgebaston, trent,)
Are tickets available through ecb or am i as well to go direct to blackcaps? Any seasoned fans out there offer any advice? Flight booked, accomodation free (result!)just need tickets and a t-shirt.

You won't get tickets from the ECB - you'll need to buy direct from the NZ cricket board. Someone will post a link on here once tickets become available.
