Any experienced NZ campaigners know the best way to get from Queenstown to Dunedin? Thinking of taking in the warm-up there... Cheers. |

Hi Tommo I'm gonna take the scenic train the other way round and bus as heading to QT for a night from Dunedin -Looks a decent way of seeing a bit http://www.taieri.co.nz/index.htm |

I was getting the bus from Queenstown to Dunedin on the 5th. As Bread has intimated there is also the scenic train in tandem but seemed a bit arsey for the length of time on the train. Got to be some decent scenery on that road I think. |

Cheers for the tips. Mark - will give that some thought. Cheers. Andy - think you're right. Six hours bus and train as opposed to four and a half on the InterCity thingy. Cheap too. |

I did the bus trip the other way earlier this year and the scenery was good, It would be better on the train but as you say cost vs need 100% head to Milford sound the drive there is amazing and plenty of places to stop like the mirror lakes. Would recommend a trip to Invercargil personally but if you have time to spare I would say an over night trip t Fox glacier or Franz Joseph would be a better use of time. |
