I'm a Brit who, as well as loving cricket, also teaches/organises fishing in the UK (April to Nov) and gets the best of both worlds by taking people fishing in NZ each Dec-Mar - their summer is our Winter. So if anyone wants to go fishing in the SOUTH ISLAND in Jan, Feb or early March (Note I will be at the Dunedin Test Match myself) they should contact me. I can advise about the best rivers and the best guides, equipment, and (suitable) accommodation and even travel around NZ. If you want 5 star places to stay there are superb "lodges" and at the other extreme you can go camping. Lots of Motels and B&B's inbetween. The trout fishing, on the other hand, is nearly all second to none if you know where to go. Fantastic. Superb. Forget about salmon in NZ, its not nearly as good as Scotlands but the trout in NZ are huge, wild, and exhilarating. If you enjoy fly fishing dont go to NZ and fail to fish for their trout! See www.TROUTinNZ.com or email me at AS@RealFarms.co.uk when you get back to the UK try salmon fishing at www.SalmonSchool.co.uk |
