Greetings everyone, My name is Ahmad and I'm the local Chair for the Wellington Phoenix FC Supporters Group in Dunedin. As you will all know, England plays New Zealand at the University Oval in Dunedin from Wednesday 6 March, and we look forward to hosting you in our city. On the weekend prior to the Test, on Sunday 3 March, there will be an A-League football match being played at the amazing new Forsyth Barr Stadium - one of the best stadia for football in all of New Zealand and Australia. Some of you will be in Queenstown for the warm up match which concludes on Saturday 2 March, but I'm hoping that many of you will be able to head through to Dunedin from Queenstown (3.5 hours by car) in time for this match. We'd love to have you join us for the game (as well as the inevitable pre- and post- match drinks). Ticket details can be found here: www.ticketdirect.co.nz/event/details/64 ... x-vs-heart The Phoenix supporters group are known as "Yellow Fever" and we'd love you all to join us in the "Fever Zone" ticketing area to make some noise! Feel free to ask any questions, be they related to the game or just Dunedin in general. Always happy to offer local knowledge having lived and loved this city all my life |

I remember in 2007 on what was meant to be Day 5 in Sydney loads of us ended up behind the goal cheering on NZ Knights (now Wellington Phoneix) v Sydney. Very funny evening and a shock 1-0 win for The Knights! |

My mate also a Mansfield fan is out in QT then off to Dunedin around this time so I'll let him know and he might head down for this game now Craig |

Hi! Yes Greenie is a great guy and I can certainly pull a few strings and get you hooked up with him somehow. I don't know how yet but I can pretty much move mountains if I want to What a shame most of the Barmy Army won't be in town until the day of the game at the absolute earliest. Anyway I look forward to further contact! Cheers, Ahmad. |

By the way is there a way to get email notification of replies on this forum? Sorry for the late reply as I didn't realise there was a post made until someone else alerted me to it. I can't seem to find an option? |

Chris started his career at City and was popular whilst it was generally accepted he probably was'nt quite upto the mark (not that our mark was that high then). Pleased he's still in the game and hopefully doing well. |

Done some research into footie whilst in NZ It seems the ASB premier ( made up of 8 teams ) ends its regular season at the end of February. Like Rugby Union in England, the top four play off, during March. No dates/venues at the moment as the season has not finished as yet, but it looks like Sunday afternoons is the regular slot. Looking at the table it looks like that Wellington and Otago will miss out so Auckland are the only possible choice workingn around the test schedule. Also NZ play a World Cup Qualifier on the 22nd March, at home to Solomon Islands. The venue does not seem to have been confirmed but given we are in Auckland then, we rely on the game ( Evening) being somewhere in Auckland i.e. North harbour Stadium for example. If anyone is interested, I will post updates when I have some P x |
