Just to update everyone on our request for ticket only packages for the Ashes in Australia we have had further correspondence with the powers that be but unfortunately they have no further update for us at this stage. We continue to push for the ticket only allocation and highlighted the great feedback that the Barmy Army were given by the respective captains at the end of the NZ Series. They have indicated that we may know more in May/June, I will of course keep you updated as and when we hear anything. |

Hi, According to the Cricket Australia website tickets go on general sale on 17th July. www.cricket.com.au/news-list/2013/5/16/ ... et-noisier To me it seems to indicate that the general sale tickets will only be available to Aussie residents. Do those of you with past experience know if this is what usually happens or are the general sale tickets normally available to everyone, regardless of where you live? Thanks everyone! |

There are 3 ticket sale dates......... - 1/7. Only Aussie residents, members of the ACF (Australian cricket family) who have previously purchased tickets. - 2/7 Only Aussie residents, members of the ACF. - 17/7. General release. Open to UK residents. In previous years the "Aussie residents" actually meant an Aussie billing address for the credit card payment. I just can't see there being the clamour for tickets this time that there has been in the past. I reckon if you can't access the first 2 release dates there will still be plenty available for the general sale. |

First time Down Under Ashes go-er also planning on attending parts of the Perth, Melbourne and Sydney tests. Flights and accommodation booked and we can't wait! I am in the fortunate position of having an Australian relative who has an Australian credit card at an Australian address. To boot he is even a member of the ACF. My question is if he buys us tickets for the above 3 tests will we be ok to use them? They don't need the card holder to be present presumably (can't do reading some of the earlier posts on this thread regarding wannabe touts etc)... I'd be interested to hear where the Barmy's allocation will be so we can attempt to get something near it... |

You'll be fine - the last two times I got my mate who lives in Australia to buy tickets for me and I had no problems using the tickets. The purchaser's name wasn't printed on the tickets, and even if it was this time around, the staff on the gates won't be bothered to check when thousands of people are trying to get into the ground for the start of play. |
