Hi all, my mate and I are first time travellers to Australia and wanted to buy tickets for every day at Adelaide. Read through the posts and it appears we have left it too late :( Does anyone have any advice on how we might go about getting 2 seats for any/every day at Adelaide? Thanks for all the useful advice on here by the way.

Going with my family for this one, got tickets for the first 4 days of the MCG and days 1 and 3 at the SCG, flying home on day 5 (we're assuming it won't go that far :D ). If anyone has any spares for day 4 (as for some stupid reason we forgot to book tickets) please give me a shout at simonrich2@aol.com. Also my first England cricket tour abroad so no doubt would be up for meeting up for beers at the BA headquarters. Cheers all

Hi everyone, first time poster, think I'll try here first for info rather than clog things up with a new thread...

We have booked Tickets/ Accomodation for Melbourne with Barmy Army and are flying on to Sydney on the 31st for New Year.

Looks like we can can squeeze in Day 1 at the SCG before flying back to blighty, and my wife has found some availability online.

Question is, who to book with and where to sit? (Sorry that's two questions)

Would prefer a "dry zone" if poss. Party is me, my wife and son (11years)

Any advice much appreciated!

Hi,

I am going to Brisbane with my sister, and need to get tickets for the first four days, somewhere close to the Barmy Army. We have our accommodation and flights already booked and payed for so only need the tickets.

Can someone advise where I may "safely" purchase the tickets.

Thanks
Robin

Hi Steve, you've missed the boat mate as far as getting tickets through official channels. Your best bet is start a thread here looking for Sydney day 1 tickets......don't fancy your chances given you are looking for 3. Plenty of spares get swapped or sold at face value here but 3 together is a big ask.

Failing that you can only hope that the greedy touts have bitten off more than they can chew and are outside the grounds on the day taking whatever they can get for their surplus tickets.........there is a good chance of this happening too btw, but again 3 together may be tricky.

Any chance you can send the missus and son to Bondi for the day while you go to the cricket?? Gonna be a lot easier to pick up a single ticket.

Hi Robin,

There are still some tickets available for the GABBA test on ticketmaster.

www.ticketmaster.com.au/section?tm_link=tm_header

See what days you can get pick up there and if you can't get all 4 start a thread looking for spares here for your missing days......you may get lucky.

Like the guy above you have left it a little late so I don't think you'll be in a position of being fussy as to where you sit, will be a case of take what you can get.

If it helps though Barmy Army are in bays 30 and 31 in the Southern Stand.

Cheers addtamx,

I managed to get tickets for days 2-4. Not quite sure are they good seats, but they cost 100 AUD a seat, so should be pretty good anyhow.
Day one tickets were sold out, so i will try on the day.

Thanks for the link.

Based on past experience I can't see you having too many problems getting tickets for Day 1. With Cricket Australia having allowed 9 tickets per person I'm sure many will have been snapped up by amateur scalpers hoping to make a quick buck. This was the case in 2006, and on the day there were desperate Fat Stan Flashman wannabees trying to offload tickets at below face value with not many people buying.

I also wouldn't discount the possibility of further releases of tickets through official channels nearer the time, as normally happens in this country.

I will have a pair of tickets spare for Sydney for both day 1 (silver) and day 3 (general reserve). Please send me a pm if interested - face value of course but prefer not to sell single tickets.

Hi PeterT, I'm unable to PM but I'm interested in your Sydney tickets if they're still available?
