As Harvey has already indicated Twelfth man are advising they will have an allocation later this month. Free to become a member and usually good stuff anyway, worth a try.

Details as follows:

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 17th July at 12pm.

All new TwelfthMan members must be registered by Sunday 14th July.

Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster. We will send you a link to the ticket page before the on sale date.

Tickets are available for all 5 days of all 5 Test Matches, plus all ODIs and T20s.

To be eligible for tickets, you will need to enter your TwelfthMan Membership ID on the Ticketmaster site when purchasing tickets.

In order to give as many TwelfthMan members as possible an opportunity to access tickets, there is a limit on ticket allocation per member. Each TwelfthMan Member can purchase a maximum of 4 tickets per match. Tickets can be split across any days you choose.

It's the first time for me to to oz. going to melbourne and sydney. Will we be able to buy the general sale tickets in Britain on the 17th of July. If not where else will you get tickets from in Britain. I have already booked my flights and hotels independently. Thanks

You'll be able to order tickets through the Australian Ticketek website from anywhere in the world using any type of card that's accepted internationally. Just make sure you get in quickly as soon as the tickets go on sale (especially for Sydney), and be prepared to spend a long time as the servers go into meltdown!

Make sure you're already registered on the Ticketek website ( www.ticketek.com.au ) before the tickets go on sale. Do it now if you haven't already.

Even if the ACF priority allocation sells out, there will still be tickets available when they go on general sale.

Really? I was stressing out! I've called ACF atleast 10 times and asked whether ACF members are given priority access to ALL tickets or a fraction of the tickets. They all said that the ACF members had access to all tickets. Wierd... Lets hope that there are in fact more tickets available on the 17th.

That's incorrect. ACF have an allocation, albeit a very large allocation. There is another smaller allocation for the General sale, and also for Twelfth Man etc etc.

Do you actually know this or is that speculation?? I'm tipping (but this is just my thoughts not fact) that the ACF allocation was actually quite small by how quickly they were snapped up......I reckon a very big chunk were held back for General Release.

If you do have some confirmed info on this though a lot of people here would love to hear it.

Many days have not sold out, even for the ACF allocation. For instance, there were still tickets available for ALL days of Brisbane Test by the time the ACF priority period ended. From memory the only ground that sold out for all of the first four days was Sydney. Although I can't remember about Perth.

THIS...

I am also betting that the ACF had a small allocation of tickets. Even after 10 or more conversations over the phone with the ACF and tickettek, I still don't believe that ALL tickets where available to ACF members as it just simply doesn't make sense. Last time in Aus, I purchased tickets for Melb, Adelaide and Sydney no more than 6 weeks away from the start of the series. I managed to get 3 tickets each day, for each test, and with the BA each and every day.

So whats changed now? Have the aussies gotten SOOOOO good that demand is just too high? OR are there a countless number of arseholes who have no idea how to organize tickets for big events such as the ashes?

Out of pure, but calculated speculation, I am absolutely sure that more BA tickets are available through GA. If not I'll consider 12man and if not that I'll buy cheap aussie army tickets (throws up in hand), which I am sure will be full of Englishman anyways!

I know for a fact that ACF member Adelaide tickets where 95% sold out. The only tickets I could get and hour into the sale where $150 platinum tickets on day 3. Melbourne still had some available, but couldn't seem to get any bronze tickets on L1 next to the BA, only L4 which is the biggest waste of time.
