Hey Sue,

I did the whole 2010/11 Ashes tour alone as a 19 year old cricket-mad female and it probably still counts as the best 6 weeks of my life! I booked everything independently but met loads of English fans along the way. I don't drink that much but always had a great time out after the games with the Barmy Army - I was one of the few women there, but all the guys looked after me! You've got nothing to worry about, go ahead and enjoy :)

Hi Guys,
I am seriously thinking of going to a Test in Australia and I was wondering if I travel alone, how friendly the Barmy Army tours are?
Im a tad nervous about it. Im hoping a friend will be able to come but if not Im going to go it alone!! :D
Im outgoing, love and still play cricket and love to have a laugh but Im a lightweight in the drinking department and wondered if that was a pre requisite requirement lol.

I would love to hear your thoughts :P

Sue x

I am sure that you Sue, and Devongirl, will be made very welcome, but I am also nervous as I am going to Melbourne and Sydney on my own for the cricket. My worry is that I am now a 70 years young female and although fairly outgoing and young at heart I hope I will be welcome to pal up with a friendly crowd.

Ah well, committed now and looking forward to the Ashes, Xmas and NY in Oz.

Pauline :-)
