You can purchase the ticket and hotel packages with BA but they are not cheap from what i can gather. If you are looking to keep costs down then i very much doubt this will be an option for you! And Australia is now a very expensive place. Better off sorting tickets independently and saving your money for your travels, especially doing all 5 tests! If you know someone who lives in Aus then this is your best bet to sort tickets out as they go on sale first to AUs residents with an Australian registered credit card. For grounds like Adelaide, General Admission tickets will get you on the grass banks where plenty of English will congregate. Perth also has grass banks but for Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney you may have to just take pot luck with where you are sat. On the less busy days or if we are trouncing the Aussies then grounds will only be half full giving everyone a better chance of sitting together. Day 5 especially if it reaches that far is always a good day for everyone to get together. |

Adding to what MrMat said, Barmy Army tours and keeping costs down definitely do not belong in the same sentence!! You should forget about those now. As soon as flights become available for that time, keep on the look out for airline deals and you may pick up a good price. Do not leave it too late to book. Internal flights whilst you are there are pretty reasonably priced and can book as and when you need them at pretty short notice. Although flying between Melbourne and Sydney does get busy with it being New Year. Of course you can always take the train or driving option too between certain test matches and get out and see a bit! I would also save money on swanky hotels and do the hostels. There are many very good standard hostels and are good prices too. Day to day living, eating and drinking in Oz is extremely expensive now so the more you save on travel and digs the more you have to spend and you will need it! |

As above the flights around Christmas do get busy but Tiger air have great deals at the moment $39 each way sydney to melbourne. I will be in Syd for Christmas and flying down Christmas day night and then back up new year eve. |

I can only do the Perth test so booked the barmy army thing, just so I knew I could get tickets. Cost me about a grand I think for tickets and 6 nights digs which is a lot but needed the gaurantee of tickets so.... only people to blame for the price really is cricket australia as they are to stubborn to make it easy for us. New Zealand on the other hand was brilliant and easy to get tickets without any travel packages |

Only when (if) the touring no's begin to drop off will you see any change. In the meantime expect others to learn from the SL board. What price two tier ticketing in the WI ? They have previous ! 'Special' rates for the Army in Aus to 'facilitate' the requirement for block seating ... you have been warned. Course I have been wrong before |
