"Only" £2059.
For those with unlimited time and/or money.
However it is 37 days, all food etc, and stops off at loads of interesting places.
A o/w flight would be around £400 or £500.
I am pasting this from a word document as where I'm supposed to write is obscured by an ad.

So I don't know if the link will work

However it is with Iglu Cruise, departing from Rome on 5th November, gets you in Fremantle on 8th December with a few days to spare before the Perth test. The name of the ship is the Astor.

It would be an interesting way of arriving, and at about £55 a day with all your food and entertainment it seems pretty good value.

Ports of call include Livorno, Valletta, Port Said, Safaba, Aqaba, Salalah, Columbo, Phuket, Singapore, and Bali.

Disclaimer- I am most definately not a travel agent, but thought someone might find it interesting

Certainly a different way to travel to the ashes, but I think you'd have to have a lot of time on your hands and the cricket not being the main priority!!! 37 days to get there, if I was taking that much leave from work I think i'd want to see a bit more cricket than that!!!

Day 18: Salalah, south of Oman, nice beach...behind Portmouth and Plymouth it would've been my most visited port in the RN.

Day 30: Crossing the Equator.
I wonder if it is as eventful as when we crossed the line ;)

Me in 2001 :)
