Just managed to book tickets for days 3 + 4 at Perth. I couldn't get seats in or near the BA area, the nearest available was the Inverity stand which is just behind the BA area. The interactive seat map is not available so if you choose Northern Perimeter you don't get seats nearby.

Now just need to sort Melbourne and Sydney, but at the moment Ticketek is offline for maintenance...

I have a few ACF membership numbers now, will i be able to complete the sale here in the UK using one of the numbers and have the tickets sent to an Australian address? Obviously my CC will be registered here.

The priority window for ACF members is only supposed to be available to ACF members with an Australian registered credit card and an Australian address. My guess is that if you try to order tickets with a UK registered credit card to be sent to an Australian address the transaction will be thrown out, but it all depends on how secure the Ticktek and Ticketmaster sites are, and how serious they are about enforcing Cricket Australia's policy.

Not that serious Harvey, got my tickets last night using my UK debit card.

Hi all, given what phase_k says above, would I be better off trying to get tickets for the West Grassed area at Perth? I haven't been there before so I don't know the layout that well. I'm travelling by myself so ideally I'd prefer not to be in the middle of a load of Aussies...

--EDIT-- just seen a thread further down that answers this very question, apologies.

Hi - does anyone who knows the stadiums well know whether the Barmy Army sections are exposed all-day to the sun? I'm going to the Melbourne and Sydney tests, and let's just say that i am a candidate for sunburn...

if the sections are exposed to the sun all day, is it easy to move back into the shade from time to time?

Hi Willo,

Can't speak for Sydney, though the bays around the Barmy Army at the MCG (M15, M16, M17) are full sun. However, the rows toward the back of the bays are under cover, as is the standing section.

I'd recommend searching for tickets with double initials if you're seeking shade, from rows AA - ZZ (I believe). If that fails, buy yourself some factor 30 and a nice big hat

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Dave and others,
if one happened to find oneself in Trent Bridge sometime this week, where would one find the BA for an ale after the day's play?

Tony

PS, I hope you're all not getting too carried away with the Lions win... :D

I owe it to all of our supporters to share this information that the ECB and Cricket Australia have a contra deal that will enable those members of the Twelth Man rto be able to buy Ashes tiockets for Australia at face value. it's hard to put into words how disappointed we are that we were not given similar privileges but again it's another way we can beat the system and to get as many fans into the grounds as possible and then all group together from Day 3,

Hope this helps:

TwelfthMan, the official England cricket fans community, are offering its members exclusive access to purchase tickets for the Ashes in Australia. We recognise that some of our members may have made their own travel arrangements, that’'s why we have teamed up with Cricket Australia to ensure our members have the opportunity to buy tickets only.
We are the only member group to provide this service and we are offering the tickets at face value, non-for-profit and no mark up!

Sound good? Here is what you need to know…

* Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 17th July at 12pm.
* All new TwelfthMan members must be registered by Sunday 14th July.
* Tickets will be available via Ticketmaster. We will send you a link to the ticket page before the on sale date.
* Tickets are available for all 5 days of all 5 Test Matches, plus all ODI’s and T20s.
* To be eligible for tickets, you will need to enter your TwelfthMan Membership ID on the Ticketmaster site when purchasing tickets. Your TwelfthMan Membership ID is:

TM136498

* In order to give as many TwelfthMan members as possible an opportunity to access tickets, there is a limit on ticket allocation per member. Each TwelfthMan Member can purchase a maximum of 4 tickets per match. Tickets can be split across any days you choose.

For further details, please visit our FAQs page here <http://twelfthmanextra.ecb.co.uk/rsps/ct/c/878/r/13493969/l/106357>

Look out for further emails advising on prices and a link to the Ticketmaster page.

... Or if you want guaranteed tickets to all 5 days of a Test Match, a range of accommodation, official England Merchandise, programme and free entry to official Cricket Australia pre-Ashes events in one package, you may prefer our TwelfthMan Travel packages. Look here <http://twelfthmanextra.ecb.co.uk/rsps/ct/c/878/r/13493969/l/106359> for our exclusive members-only travel packages.

They also say that tickets will be at face value. That might well be the case, but note the exchange rate agreed 150. Almost 162 today. Who's making money here?

I am a Twelfth Man member and have had issues with them in the past regarding tickets. This time we have purchased them via a friend in Brisbane. Much better option.
Also note you have no option with regard to seating choices, they are all mid range tickets.

It is a real problem for fans today. Cricket Australia are just plain greedy, but probably no different to the ECB? Its all about money, fans are a secondary issue.

Thank you for all you have done thus far David! It's very much appreciated. I cannot begin to explain how relieved I am that there will be more tickets available for us independant travelers. This all explains why it was so hard to get tickets in the first place! Cheers :D

PS My only concern is that I'm not given choice where to sit. But as long as these tickets are reasonably priced, I'll find my way into the BA no matter where I am ;) but lets hope it doesn't come to that...
