Still looking for accommodation in Adelaide and Melbourne if anyone has any suggestions? Somewhere inbetween the Crowne Plaza and a backpackers that is safe for a lone female.

Hi GG1. Your question is a little off topic so you may find that posting it separately from this thread will get some more responses but if it's of any help.....I interpreted your question to be that you're looking for a hotel that is rated somewhere mid range rather than physical location?

If so, a starting point may be the Tune Hotel in Melbourne. I'm staying there for a few nights having stayed at others in London and Malaysia. They are small rooms and you pay for all extras (wifi,tv etc) but they are modern hotel rooms and very clean and I think are ideal for the price. The Melbourne one is less than a year old. Presently rooms start at around GBP£50 for a room depending on what dates in December you wanted.

Good luck whatever you go for and maybe see you out there

Thank you Jeeder2, much appreciated, looks like a really good deal. Apologies for not posting in the right place. Look forward to meeting you in Australia.

Completely new to both the barmy army and twitter - first tour abroad to see England. Dragging the girlfriend along for first three tests.

You'll find me @JoeBPaton

Cheers

PS: on look out for tickets for Adelaide if anyone has spares :)

I shall be at the Melbourne Test, then St Kilda for NYE, then last few days of Sydney test. @anderslewis

Travelling from SE Asia then probably heading up the gold coast. :D

I'm staying at the Spencer Backpackers in Melbourne, quite reasonably priced and not too bad a walk to the MCG. I'll be checking it out first of all the first couple of nights after I land, so if I don't make it to Perth then you can assume it wasn't safe after all... :D
