www.oddschecker.com/cricket/ashes

This is the best place to go for most prices. NOthing really sticks out for me so far.

For the series: Eng 11/10, Aus 7/4, Draw 5/1.

I actually got on Cookie at 18/1 for top runscorer last time out, looking for another steal but best I can see is Steve Smith at 16s, Root at 14s would like a little more. The big players are all around 5s or 6s and not tempting. Lots of money for Boyd Rankin top wicket taker but at 10s not tempting, rather Tremlett at the same price.

The spread firms haven't got markets up on series runs/wkts, and until they do I've little interest.

Not easy markets because of so many selection question marks. So the best I can come up with so far is, who will hit England's first six? a little tickle on Tremlett at 80/1 and Anderson at 50/1. Steve Smith top aussie bat at 10/1. Tremlett top England bowler 10/1. If the bookies allow I might double up Steve Smith with Ian Bell at 9/2 top English runscorer, put enough on to pay for the trip would be nice.

Been trawling through the prices myself, and like you, finding nothing that stands out. On the spreads the series lbw's might be something I have a look at. I've got a spreadex account and see they have lbw's at 27.5 - 29.5. With the hard pitches and giant bowlers I reckon this may be a bit high - what do you reckon?

27.5 - 29.5 so 5 or 6 a test. Dunno, dunno without trawling stats that is a tricky one. what is average lbw/test? average in aus? effect of DRS. do the respective teams' bowlers get more or less than average. I'd just be guessing, it is defo one where you'd have to do some research to get an edge.

13/8 the pair for the first test now, yet we are still 11/10 for the series. We do need more match time but Cook, Trott, Carberry and Bell have all got tons, the injury scares appear to be just scares so our prep hasn't been so bad, don't see why we should be drifting.

Aussie bowlers up now: Harris 5/2, Siddle 3/1, MJ 13/4, Lyon 6/1

Siddle looks the best bet of them, and perhaps Mitch. Will defo steer clear of Harris and Lyon. Fawad is 25s, at 50s I might've been tempted.

Any Tips ?

Aus to win 5-0 pays 66-1.

Not bad if you're brave enough, or a Shane Warne fan, or have money to throw away.

Might ease the pain a bit if it was to happen, and you're on it with a score.

Aus 5-0 is 100-1 with some bookie called "Winner". So many markets up on that oddschecker link now it ain't even funny.

First ball:

dot ball 1/6
1 run 13/2
4 14/1
bye or leg bye 16/1
2 25/1
wide 25/1
3 33/1
wkt 33/1
no ball 66/1
6 200/1

The two at 25/1 and no ball at 66/1 were prices that surprised me. Remember, there is always value somewhere, bookies are not beyond complacency.

OK, Stuart Broad, player of the series 14/1 with Paddy Power. I think this might just be the bet I was looking for. This is going on, enough to pay for the flights if it comes in.

Fkin Paddy Power - they really are the Ryanair of bookies, never bet with them before and there reputation goes before them. Was gonna put £75 on, opened an account when I got home last night (betting sites banned at work) Went to put the bet on and they'd only take £18.75. ffs, won't even stand a £20 bet, no faith in their own prices these cowards. Well I did £18 and then managed to do another £18(what a great IT system they must have) before it stopped me, so I've got 36 on. If I'd got the 75 on then it would have covered the flights, so a little p1ssed off. There's a high street shop near work I could have prob got the bet on easy there if I got some mates to do it in installments.
