These are going for £100 + a pop. Am I out of touch? was thinking of going with my sister and her family who'll be over from Australia, not if it's gonna cost a monkey or more I won't. Used to be able to get in for a tenner on the last day, kids in free. Didn't even know they sold them ante post, anyone know what they starting price was for them? |

Edgbaston 1997, it was £19 for a ticket, this is for the 4th day when we won. They were letting people in for free at the end. |

You have hit a raw nerve with this Surrey International member ! 10 + years or so ago, day five of the test was free for members. In 2005 it was £10 and up until last year it was £15. This year it is £28. I wrote to SCCC asking for an explanation for the 80ish % rise in Day Five tickets. The explanation that came back was that as Day Five this year is a Sunday the demand would be greater ! Not withstanding, the MLG at SCCC had previously discussed the tickets rising by the rate of inflation, this is a ridiculous rise and I know SCCC members who have not applied All in all very poor, this and other explanations to questions asked were poorly answered and left a sour taste Hope that helps P |

More often than not these days I buy my tickets off touts. Going through official sources has become so expensive for many grounds that I'll rock up to a place about an hour after play has started and normally there are plenty of them desperate to unload unsold tickets. Very occasionally I might have to wait until the lunch interval but that gives me two sessions at prices which,by then,are way below face value. |

If you are looking for single tickets, and you are prepared to wait until after the game has started you will get tickets for face or usually less. Once the game has started touts with any tickets ( and especially singletons) are desperate to get rid of them. |

Was there in 2009 on the Saturday and Sunday and I had a ticket for the Monday, however we'd already won the ashes and therefore I got my money back but I paid £50 in the big stand opposite the pavilion. But that is because the view is brilliant. They will always inflate ashes tickets because of the interest. |

Do you think it will be full if say we only need a couple of wickets or to knock off a few runs with perhaps only an hour's play due? In that situation might they be selling tickets on the door? Funny thing is my sister(English) and bro in law and 2 kids (aussies) arrive at Heathrow that day so I'll be in London that day anyway and it would be good fun to pick them up at the airport and give them a bit of a ribbing. |
