Left-armer James Faulkner is the sole uncapped player but only five of the 16 have played an Ashes Test in England.

His inclusion means there is no place for left-arm seamer Mitchell Johnson, who has taken 35 wickets in nine Tests against England. He is one of five players omitted from the squad which went to India.

Can we get a campaign together to get this decision reversed?!

Sadly the 'great man' has played his last test, certainly on these shores. Any possible benefit from bringing him would be rendered completely and utterely worthless as soon as he landed at Heathrow. The press would do our job for us, immediate and unending interrogation into his mental state and the prospect of the ceaseless intimidation from the crowds at all grounds bar Lords.
TBH, how well do you think you'd stand up to it. I know poor old Mitch (sic) couldn't.

Take heart Pete, some-one will doubtless take up the mantle.

I will take heart at that - I can already hear 'Are you Mitchell in disguise' ringing around 4 of the 5 grounds!

I remember him conceding hundred odd runs on the morning of the Lords test. Strauss and Cook kept putting away his full tosses.

I have a feeling though with Starc and Pattison it isn't going to be as easy as we expected. I did expect them to bring Cummings, who looked top drawer against SA. I do think their attack will consist of Starc, Pattison, Siddle and Lyon.

Hopefully after two tests they will be playing Faulkner as a batsman just because they are 2 down and need to win.
