As a confirmed "my galss is virtually empty" man I wish this was true but I think there is more than one twist left in this wondrous test. It was crucial that we did'nt fold immediately this am, and to some extent we did'nt but the capitulation at the end lifted their spirits and I think its very seriously game on.

Please please let me be wrong.

Again.

I have to admit that England's over confidence may haunt them in this test. Reading the newspapers before this test started almost implied that all England had to do was turn up and victory was assured. England have had a rude awakening in this test. They are not the great team they thought they were, and equally this Australian team is a lot better than the UK press made out.
I hope England win tomorrow, but if they lose then it basically serves them right. There is no such thing as an easy Ashes series. There never has been and there never will be. Good luck tomorrow England, but if you lose you only have yourselves to blame.

I am hoping there is an element of 'If we just turn up we will win' and the England team will play the next game with a different attitude. Not sure that that is true though :(

Surely to god what is written in the gutter press is not reflective of the views of the players or even the real fans for that matter.

I can't believe there was ever a thought in the changeroom that all we had to do was turn up to win. I'm sure that Flower and Cook would have our feet firmly grounded and would be treating the Aussies with every bit of respect. They can't control what the Fleet Street hacks stick on the back page.

Anyway, fantastic test match this and I have a horrible feeling it is gonna go right down to the wire ala Edgbaston '05. Kudos to both teams for putting on a an absorbing contest.

C'Mon England!!!!!!
