... and now Anderson no longer wicket-less ... over-reliant on him again to get out of trouble?

I'd give this Australian attack some credit, they are extremely hard working and have reasonable ability too. However, our top order batsmen simply don't look at the races at all. Just as well we aren't playing a side with a genuine quality bowling attack really.

This England team I'd say is a reasonably good side. Nothing more, nothing less. Hard working with a good team spirit. They can't be blamed for the press over hyping them.

My thoughts exactly MO. Every test has its stand out player, it's just that Jimmy is one of the bowling greats in the world right now and so naturally he will shine brighter and more regularly than others. But that doesn't mean the rest of our attack is toothless.

I thought a lot of those comments in the last test were really over the top and very premature

It was nonsense that we over rely on. Anderson. Papers just have to write something, anything. One thing about this England side is we dont have any superstars. OK, KP, Cook and Anderson may go down as greats but so might Prior, Broad, Trott, Bell, Root or Swann. We dont over rely on Anderson, sometimes he is the man that stands up, sometimes it will be someone else. England are the second best team inthe world imo. We have lost one test out of ten since Cook became permo skipper, won 2 drawn 1 series. In the last four years we have won 11 series, lost 2 and drawn 3. We are not outplaying aus in every possible sense like last time or against India 2 years ago, but we are still a very good side. I would like us to play perfect cricket every match but alas it doesnt always happen like that..... I hope that is their aspiration mind.
