Agreed, very important. Thedraw is now 1.37, a half decent day and rain tomorrow means the convicts will escape with another lucky draw.

Its been a pretty popular topic on here recently, but today's effort (so far) seems to be confirmation that batting wise we have gone backwards this series.

Having spent the day at the Oval yesterday, I can state I've had more entertaining days watching paint dry!

To be fair, its test cricket after all. Despite the 'modernisation' of the game, there are still situations where slow and patient batting are required. Having been put out of the game by the Aussies 1st innings, if England grind out 400 runs and manage to salvage a draw then the go slow is justified.

However, I'd still say batting wise we have gone backwards this series.
