On previous cricket trips to Barbados I haven't spent much time in the Capital. Can anyone recommend some good bars/dives for a crawl. I am only really familiar with the 'old city bar'.

Sorry to disappoint you but Bridgetown really isn't that great for a pub crawl.
There's the odd scruffy bar tucked away around the back streets with a few rheumy-eyed old geezers nursing a Banks but apart from that it's just not that great a capital.

I'm also not sure I'd fancy wandering around at night jarred up although obviously it's not on the same scale of danger as Jamaica.

The Gap is definitely where the best bars are but you might wish to try the rum shacks as well.

There's not even a great selection of beer but if you come across it I would recommend 10 Saints, a locally-brewed " craft " lager aged in rum barrels.

And if you get sick of lager there's always Mackeson, a real blast from the past.

I never liked Makeson in the 70's so I'll give it a miss!
