Marks. I've not stayed at the Yellow Bird but I know of it and have stayed in St Lawrence Gap a few times with my wife on previous cricket tours. There's nothing to not like about the hotels or the area in my experience. SLG is livelier than most other parts of Barbados but all mentions of it being a party zone are pretty exaggerated. It's basically a fairly small strip of bars, restaurants and hotels. And I mean small. I think its great though and love being there. There hotels to suit all budgets and tastes. I wouldn't be put off by mentions of noise as I've never experienced that in SLG hotels and my wife would wake up at a mosquito farting so it really can't be bad at all. My only strong advice would be to avoid all inclusive unless you get an amazing deal. Te food, booze and island are just too good to be stuck in your hotel. The Absolute Watering Hole rum shack in SLG is genuinely one of my favourite bars of the world just because its so relaxed, cheap and great fun. Singing karaoke with Bumble there in 2010 being just one highlight! Go with whatever you're happy paying and, in my experience, the hotels are pretty good for what they are

I think you will find we are all waiting for dates of the tour, probably be the week before the first test then change it during the week.

If the last series in the WI is anything to go by, about eight months before the First Test. We know that's April, so they should be announced anytime from the start of August.

I emailed the WICB a few weeks ago, asking when the venues and dates were likely to be announced after going through the venue bidding process again

I didn't get a reply, not even a "piss off and wait like all the others" response......

Not very helpful are they?

What you've got to remember is that we, the ordinary English cricket supporter, are bottom of the food chain.
All the advance information goes to airlines and organised tour groups.
Having said that I'm not sure there will be huge numbers going to the West Indies this time and I don't think you'll have any problem with tickets, hotels and flights.

WICB were great for the ODI's/T20's in Feb/March....emailed them, they had my Tix in an envelope at the Party stand window Antigua, didn't have to queue for 2 secs when most did for 2 hours, in Barbados the guy drove to my apt at midnight & dropped them off...perfect after the 'Watering Hole'! See you all there in April (maybe).
