For those travelling to SL you will need a visa. You can get these on-line. I am going to SL in July for the SA tour. It has a test in Galle, which I love. So I needed a visa.
Be aware there is a site called http://www.eta-sri-lanka.net. It looks completely authentic, sounds right, and is the first site that comes up if you google for SL visas. In fact it is a London based Visa agency, its not a scam, but will charge you $90 for a visa.
The actual site you want is http://www.eta.gov.lk. This is the site you need and the cost of the visa is $30.
A big difference. I am a seasoned traveller, but very nearly fell for the first one. Be careful.

Thanks for posting this.

I would say that charging three times the price for something you can just as easily do directly yourself does constitute a scam, and a quite outrageous one at that.

Visa agencies can be useful but I can't think of a single justification for the existence of a site like this one, the sole purpose of which seems to be to con the unwary.
